Student ID Card Privileges

TCU students have several purchasing privileges.  These privileges are either increasing balance accounts (which work like a credit card), or decreasing balance accounts (which work like a debit card).

Increasing Balance Accounts

These accounts work like credit cards, starting a balance of $0 and increase as charges are made. Charges made using a student ID on these sub-accounts will be posted to the student account (the student monthly bill).

  • Bookstore

Barnes and Noble Bookstore

Students can use their ID card to purchase anything, with the exception of gift cards, at the TCU Bookstore. This includes purchases made at the Starbucks located in the bookstore.

**This account has a credit limit  of  $3000 that is available two weeks prior to the beginning of the fall semester. An additional $1500 is added to the line of credit at the beginning of each spring semester.**

  • Printing

Student ID cards can be used to purchase printing services. Students have a $30 credit to use at the library or other printing locations. Please see the Information Desk in the library if you have any questions about the usage or billing of printing services.

  • Copying

Students can make photocopies in the Library, at Frog Prints, and at other public copiers across campus. All copying charges will appear on the student’s monthly bill. Please see the Information Desk in the library if you have any questions about the usage or billing of copying services.

  • Post Office

Students can pay for postage, shipping, and shipping supplies.

Students may use their TCU ID card to pay for concessions at TCU athletics events.

**This account has a credit limit of $300 per academic year.**

Vending & Rec Center

Students may use their TCU ID card to pay for snacks from most vending machines located across campus. This account can also be used to at the Rec Center to rent lockers, purchase refreshments, pay intramural sporting team fees, pay for work-out classes, etc.

Decreasing Balance Accounts

These accounts work like debit cards, starting with a limited amount of funds that can be spent down to a zero balance.

  • Meal Plan Campus Cash

These funds come with every meal plan. They work like “pocket change” that can be spent at any dining or snack bar location on campus. These funds will roll from the fall to the spring but any balance left at the end of the spring semester is not refundable.

  • Meal Plan Frog Bucks

These funds come with every meal plan. They also work like “pocket change,” but can be spent at participating restaurants off campus in addition to any dining or snack bar location on campus. These funds will roll from the fall to the spring but any balance left at the end of the spring semester is not refundable. For a list of off-campus locations, visit Frog Bucks.

  • Frog Bucks

These funds can be added independently of a meal plan and can be used on or off campus.

To add Frog Bucks, visit http://frogbucks.ugrydnetwork.com/ and click “Make a Deposit.” These funds will roll from the fall to the spring. At the end of the spring semester, any balance of $5 or greater will be refunded to the student’s account.
