TCU ID Card Upgrade

Over the summer, TCU has been replacing all swipe card readers with tap (prox) card readers. This means that if you have not already replaced your swipe-only card with a tap (prox) card, the odds are very high that you will have difficulty accessing your building, office, classroom, and/or parking garage.
Notice to returning students living on campus: Our ID card replacement has already been created and is available at your residence hall or Greek house.

ID Upgrade FAQ

Check the back of your current ID card:

  • If you see a set of numbers above the barcode in the top-left corner, you already have a prox card—no action needed.
  • If you do not see these numbers, you’ll need to get a new prox card (free of charge) at the ID Center, located on the 2nd floor of the BLUU.
  • If you are a student graduating in May 2025, you do not need a new ID card.

Your first new prox card is free. Beginning August 1, 2025, the cost of replacing a lost ID card will be $30 for faculty, staff, and students.
